I got one.

He will borrow anything and everything. He wants to be a part of everything that is going on but never contributes to the expense of what is going on. He has alot of high hopes and dreams that he constantly talks about, but when the gas tank is empty he left his wallet at home. I have been guilty of not confronting him, and I possibly may have built somewhat of an expectation. It's pretty sad, and recently even my wife spoke up, who normally doesn't speak out until things are really on her last nerve.

BTW this is not new, been going on for years.

What would you do, say or not do?

Before you read this, I want to let it be known that I feel charity begins at home first and foremost; I go out of my way to help people, donate monies along (along with my tax dollars) with goods, to charitable organizations, so I’m not heartless, by any means.

I saw a TV commercial yesterday that got me thinking. You know the ones…feed the children of the world.

Well this was one that was asking for $10.00...See they have this BIG rice donation from some Malaysian country, tons and tons of rice. What they want the $10.00 for is to cover the transportation costs to get this rice to Africa. Of course they flash pictures of these ole shacks, no doors, no windows, corrugated roofs, and these children with grotesque stomachs sticking out (you all have seen them). Naturally trying to play on our sympathy. They claim to be able to feed something like 500 children for a year on this shipment (number is right, not sure exactly how long but you get my point).

OK, here is where my thinking kicks in. First of all, the country they live in can’t grow or buy (import) enough food to sustain the population they have today. Now, you have this poor, uneducated population, no contributing skill of any sort, with no employment opportunities in the foreseeable future dying. So we (as in people in general) get this rice delivered to these children today and they continue to live (as they have been doing, do you expect a change) growing up to child bearing age. Being uneducated, takes no responsibility for raising their children (their parents didn’t) supplying the basics…food, clothing and shelter. Thus multiplying by the hordes. I’m completely with helping those that can and will make a difference in the world but………..what or should we do? Say enough is enough or continue with feeding the breeding population. There will be a time down the road where we can look back and say it was such a small problem. Isn’t that the way it is today….look back a generation or two. What will happen in the next generation or two…three… or four?

So traffic slowed to a mere crawl today on the interstate, and i looked out my window and saw the same kinda traffic for as far as i could see...i then noticed a man walking in between cars and he finally came up to my widow, so i asked him what the hell was goin on that would cause this kinda traffic jam....he said, well these to guys kidnapped Jessie Jackson and are threatening to throw gasoline on him and burn him at the stake unless they receive $10,000 immediately so i'm walkin along the road tryin to collect...........so i reached back into my pocket and asked him how much people usually handed him and he said........Oh, about a gallon!:letsdrink:letsdrink:letsdrink:usaflag HAPPY FOURTH EVERYONE!!! July 4 Fun on the Beach

If you're planning a trip to the beach for July 4th, there are tons of things to do in the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama areas, just miles from beautiful Pensacola.

The annual Gulf Shores fireworks show is planned for the main beach area on the 4th. The fireworks should start around 9pm and you can listen to the local radio station for a patriotic music program to match the fireworks.

Over in Orange Beach Lee Greenwood will be performing at The Wharf. If you haven't been to the area in a few years, The Wharf is a big new entertainment development on Canal Road.

During the day Fort Morgan is getting in on the fun with demonstrations and a firing of a Civil War cannon.

Rob Thomas was interviewed by Katie Curic and she asked how he came up with the incredible music that he has written. His answer was nothing short of life changing.

He said that for a period of time he was homeless and lived in a cardboard box under a bridge in LA. One of his neighbors was a common man that had at one time had a business and lost it as well as his family. When living in a cardboard box you have nothing to hide, and neither of the two of them hide anything and knew each other insideout, upsidedown and backwards. He then asked Katie how many people Completely knew her? she danced around the question and didn't answer it. Rob went on to say that there was many stories and songs in every person, but you have to know them to know the stories. He said most of his greatest music was written while he was homeless and alot of it was just stories from the lives of other homeless people. If you listen to the lyrics of the song "If your gone" it is really neat to know this because that song is the story of the man who lost his family, and the night his wife and the mother of his children had to make the decision to leave in order to provide for the children.

I thought it was amazing. Rob Thomas is the lead singer for Matchbox 20, and a very impressive person.

I share my life with almost everyone I have the relationship to share it with, and I feel there is a number of people that know me in the way Rob Thomas discribed.

Just Won a Bowfishing Trip

I found out this morning I won a bowfishing trip in Lousianna for 4 people in a drawing. Never been bowfishing but always wanted to get into it just never had the time. Got the trip setup for mid August. Talked to the Capt. and he said they have been killing mass loads of redfish, drum, sheephead, flounder, and a couple gar. Cant wait till August. Hope we have a good trip and kill some nice fish. Thanks to 98.1 the ticket, Capt. Blake of Lousianna Bowfish Charters, and a special thanks to Andy and Lyle @ Panhandle Shooting Sports in Crestview, both great guys, the best in the business, always a pleasure doing business with.

I am helping with Baker's All Star 9-10 U ball team and I am soooooooooo proud of the boys!!!! We played for the District title last week in Lynn Haven and sealed that deal with a 1st place Division, and 2nd place in the tournament. I leave out this AM for St. Pete with our boys to play for the State Championship:clap:clap:clap Navarre boys are in the bracket also with us so I wish them luck also!:letsdrink If we play like I know we can, the World Series will be played in Alabama in a few weeks. Even if we don't come back with a State Championship, Our boys will know that WE ARE SOOOOOOO PROUD OF THEM AND LOOK FORWARD TO A GREAT YEAR NEXT YEAR!!!

Fish River boat thefts foiled by neighbors

Would-be boat thieves on Fish River abandoned their own boat and the stolen boats they had been towing when a pair of neighbors fired their guns toward them early Wednesday morning, officials with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office said.

According to a Sheriff's Office news release, Johnny Calhoun, a resident of Honey Road in Marlow just west of Foley, was awakened by the barking of his dog at about 2 a.m. Wednesday. Calhoun went out on his deck, where he saw a man. The man jumped off Calhoun's deck and ran away.

The commotion awoke Calhoun's neighbor, Shawn Erickson. Together, the neighbors saw two men in an aluminum boat floating in Fish River. The boat was towing Calhoun's paddle boat. The neighbors fired "warning shots" over the heads of the two men, who leaped into the water and swam to the opposite shore, according to the news release.

The suspects escaped. Deputies recovered the suspects' boat, Calhoun's paddle boat valued at $2,000, a kayak valued at $1,600, and a spotlight from the scene. The stolen property was returned to its owners, according to the statement. The aluminum boat was seized by the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office.

Dear Walter: I hope you can help me here. The other day, I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in our bedroom with the neighbor lady. I am 32, my husband is 34, and we have been married for twelve years.

When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that they had been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. He won't go to counseling and I'm afraid I can't get through to him anymore.

Dear Sheila: A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburetor float chamber.
